Planning a good bicycle network with the right bicycle infrastructure: in a (sometimes chaotic) city like Marrakech, this is still quite a challenge. Mid-May was therefore time for Bart Bos and Thijs Broers to inspire the engineers of the municipality of Marrakech in a two-day workshop.
Bicycle-friendly Marrakech
Although reluctant at first, the municipality’s engineers concluded the workshop with lots of energy, inspiration and new ideas. The main end result: four realistic bicycle-friendly designs that will make Marrakech an increasingly bicycle-friendly city.
This workshop was organized in collaboration with Cantal Bakker of Pikala Bikes and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since its founding in 2010, Iganga has been sharing knowledge in local projects to promote sustainable mobility in developing countries.
